Edible printing is genuinely high quality, but a biscuit is a small canvas. Getting your artwork right is the single biggest thing you can do to make the finished product look sharp.
Preferred file types are vector: AI, EPS, PDF or SVG. Vector artwork scales to any biscuit size without softening. If vector is not available, send the largest PNG you have — ideally 1,000 pixels or more across the shortest edge, with a transparent background.
Avoid screenshots, logos lifted from a website header, or images embedded in Word documents. They are usually low resolution and will look fuzzy once printed.
Colour reproduces well in full CMYK edible ink, but very pale tints and pure white elements can disappear against the white icing panel. If your logo relies on white knockout detail, send us a version with a coloured or outlined background and we will advise.
Fine detail is the most common issue. Hairline strokes, small taglines and dense text below roughly 6pt at print size can lose definition. A simplified "icon plus name" lockup almost always outperforms a full logo with strapline on a biscuit.
Bleed and margins matter too. We leave a small clear border around the icing panel, so keep essential elements away from the extreme edge of your design.
Not sure whether your file will work? Send it over with your enquiry. We check every file by hand, tell you honestly how it will print, and supply a digital proof for approval before anything is baked.
